Darren McNae is originally from a sheep and beef farm in the Wairarapa and has been involved in agribusiness consultancy in the Central North Island since 2000. Over this time he has worked with a range of drystock, dairy and cropping businesses and has a broad client base including a number of larger Māori entities whom he has worked alongside for over 15 years.
The ground work started with four years of study at Massey University including a postgraduate year focusing on dairy production and pasture management. A strong base of technical knowledge means he is equipped to deal with all aspects of Agricultural systems from fertilisers and feed right through to business and financial planning.
He is a keen advocate of the use of the latest in farm computing software to enable maximisation of farm profitability and efficiency. He is a registered FARMAX consultant, a tool used to help drystock farmers unleash their potential. He also holds an accreditation in sustainable nutrient management and is well skilled in the use of Overseer Nutrient Management programme.
