Greg grew up and worked in the family business in the Wairarapa, designing, supplying and servicing milking equipment, stock water, domestic water, electrical and irrigation systems. After the family sold the business in 2007, Greg worked for the Greater Wellington Regional Council as Land Owner Liaison and Technical Operations Manager for Water Wairarapa, a regional water storage project.
